Scalo 110 – Your Next Stop
Food, Smoke & Beats in Ausonia.
The Vision: A Hub of Stories and Flavors
Imagine a hub—an old American freight station or an industrial hangar where railroad tracks intersect. This is Scalo 110: a fluid concept that defies a single definition. It’s not simply a pub, nor just a nightclub or a restaurant. It’s a social hub where the atmosphere shifts as the hours pass, welcoming diverse souls under the same roof of exposed brick, wrought iron, and warm filament lights.
Here, the journey begins with the scent of fine wood burning slowly and ends late into the night to the beat of the bass, passing through shared laughter or a guitar solo.
The Culinary Experience: The Democratic Smokehouse
The beating heart of the kitchen is the fire. Scalo 110 celebrates the art of “Low & Slow” American BBQ, but does so by breaking down all dietary barriers and exclusions. Smoke becomes the unifying element that brings together seemingly opposing worlds:
- The Carnivorous Soul: Brisket that melts in your mouth, succulent pulled pork, and perfectly glazed ribs.
- The Green Revolution: The same care and smoking technique are applied to the plant-based world. The result is shredded jackfruit in BBQ sauce (surprisingly similar to pulled pork), homemade legume burgers, and whole roasted and smoked vegetables.
- The Gluten-Free Station: Strict cross-contamination control ensures that anyone—whether celiac or gluten-intolerant—can order a spectacular sandwich or crispy fried dish without compromise.
To complement this culinary journey, there’s a selection of craft beers on tap (both local and imported) and a sophisticated, ever-evolving drink menu, where classic cocktail bar favorites meet signature variations infused with cherry or apple wood.
At Scalo 110, time isn’t rigid but flows in a continuous stream. The venue gradually transforms, adapting to the guest depending on the time of day and the day of the week.
- Early Evening (Taste and Sound): The lighting is warm and subdued, perfect for an intimate dinner or a meal with friends. This is when cultural entertainment takes the stage. On Thursdays, the space comes alive with the sharp wit of stand-up comedy and cabaret, while on Fridays the atmosphere becomes vibrant with live music (rock, blues, acoustic sets), designed to provide the ideal soundtrack for dinner and after-dinner entertainment.
- Late Night (The Voice and the Energy): Midweek, Wednesday breaks the routine with the liberating fun of Open Mic and Karaoke, where the audience takes center stage. On Saturday, however, the most profound transformation takes place: around 11:30 p.m., after the last BBQ dish has been served, the high tables are moved closer together, the bar picks up the pace, and the stage turns into a DJ booth. The neon lights come on and The Club begins—a disco night led by top DJs where you can dance until late.
- The Sunday Flow: On Sundays, the pace slows down. It’s time for the Sunday BBQ, a long, American-style lunch that gently transitions into an extended aperitif, accompanied by acoustic music and relaxation.
Why Is It the Perfect “Stop”?
Scalo 110 solves the great dilemma of modern nights out: “Where should we go for dinner? And where should we go for drinks afterward? And to dance or see a show?”
It’s become a destination venue in Ausonia because it offers a seamless, all-encompassing experience. There’s no need to change venues, move the car, or make compromises if someone in the group is vegan or just wants to dance. It’s the answer to every desire for the evening—a place where you know what to expect when you walk in, but you never know what the night has in store.
